There are dozens of Ha Giang Loop tour companies, from big party convoys to small private trips. TVPalm is one of them, so we will not rank our competitors: we cannot check their safety records ourselves, and a ranking written by one company about the others is not worth much. What we can do is tell you what to check, and say plainly how TVPalm works.
What to check before you book any Ha Giang Loop tour
- Licence: an international tour operator licence issued by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. Ask for the number and check it.
- Group size: how many bikes ride together. Convoys of 20 to 40 bikes are common on the loop; smaller groups are safer and quieter in the villages.
- Riders: how long the easy riders have ridden these roads, and whether they hold a valid motorbike licence.
- Helmets and gear: certified 3/4 or full-face helmets, and real rain suits rather than thin ponchos.
- Rooms: private rooms or shared dorms. Ask before you pay.
- What the price includes: permits, fuel, meals, boat tickets and insurance, in writing.
- Insurance: whether accident cover is included, and whether your own travel insurance covers motorbike travel as a passenger.
- Cancellation terms: the deposit, the refund rules, and what happens if bad weather closes a pass.
Then read recent reviews on more than one platform. Look for detail rather than stars: what went wrong on a trip, and how the company dealt with it.
How TVPalm works
TVPalm Adventure is a licensed international tour operator (licence 02-026/2025/CDLQGVN-GP LHQT, issued on 21 April 2025). We are based at TVPalm Ecolodge near Khuoi My, about 10 km from Ha Giang City.
- Private trips only: you travel with your own group. We do not run shared tours or party convoys.
- Easy rider or car: you ride as a passenger behind an experienced local easy rider, or travel by private car or 4×4 with a driver. We do not rent motorbikes or sell self-drive trips.
- Private rooms: standard on every trip.
- Included: the border permit, fuel, meals, private rooms and PVI Inbound accident insurance. You still need personal travel insurance that covers motorbike travel.

Frequently asked questions
Why do you not rank other companies?
Because we are one of them. We cannot check other companies’ safety records, so we would rather give you the checklist and let you compare.
How many bikes ride together on a TVPalm trip?
Only your own group, with one easy rider for each guest.
Is a TVPalm tour suitable if I have never ridden a motorbike?
Yes. You ride as a passenger; no licence and no riding experience are needed.
How far ahead should I book?
For September to November, book 4 to 6 weeks ahead. In other months, 1 to 2 weeks is usually enough.
