TVPalm low-plastic, low-waste operations

At TVPalm, reducing waste is not a slogan on the wall. It is part of the daily rhythm of operations. It shows up in small, consistent decisions what is chosen, how it is used, and where it goes after. The aim is not to strip away comfort, but to use less of what must be thrown away, reuse what still holds value, and return to the land what the land can still receive.

This approach is not driven by visibility, but by discipline. Materials are selected with their full lifecycle in mind, routines are shaped to minimize excess, and systems are designed so that waste is reduced before it is even created. What remains is handled with care, not as something to discard quickly, but as part of a continuous process of use and renewal.

Over time, these choices accumulate into something larger than individual actions. They form a way of operating that feels steady, intentional, and quietly effective where sustainability is not presented as an added feature, but exists as a natural and integrated part of how the place functions every day

Moving away from disposable habits

One of the most telling shifts can be found in the ordinary details that repeat quietly each day. The current website outlines a clear intention to eliminate single-use plastic bottles, while still ensuring that every guest has access to 100 percent purified mountain water. It presents the idea as a commitment an important direction that shapes how the lodge operates behind the scenes.

On the ESG page, however, that same intention is translated into something far more tangible and visible. The use of reusable metal bottles replaces disposables entirely, and a centralized water purification system ensures a consistent supply of safe drinking water, available to all guests at no additional cost. What was once a stated principle becomes an integrated part of the guest experience something encountered naturally, without instruction or emphasis.

This shift reflects a broader evolution in approach. Sustainability is no longer positioned as a message to be communicated, but as a system to be lived. It moves from policy into practice, embedded within daily routines in a way that feels seamless, practical, and quietly effective.

Natural cleaning, made in-house

The lodge’s approach to sustainability is expressed through small but deliberate daily practices. Each year, the team produces around 300 liters of its own bio-enzyme cleaner, made from soap nuts, raw cane sugar, citrus and pineapple peels, and natural yeast.

Instead of relying on industrial chemicals, this fully natural solution is used throughout the property, supporting a low-impact way of living. Nothing is wasted in the process every remaining element is returned to the garden as compost, completing a closed-loop cycle where byproducts are continuously transformed into nourishment.

Waste as material, not as an afterthought

The value of this approach lies in the circular logic behind it. Organic leftovers are not treated as meaningless waste. They are brought back into the garden and kept within a smaller loop of care. Rather than pushing waste out of sight as quickly as possible, TVPalm works to reduce, reuse, and return what can still nourish the land.

This way of thinking shifts the role of waste entirely. What is often dismissed at the end of a process is reconsidered as part of a longer cycle, where materials continue to serve a purpose beyond their initial use. By keeping these elements within a controlled and intentional loop, the system becomes more resilient and less dependent on external inputs.

Over time, this circular approach creates a quieter, more balanced relationship with the environment. Waste is no longer something to be removed, but something to be understood, managed, and reintegrated ensuring that what comes from the land can, in time, find its way back to it in a form that supports life rather than depletes it.

Comfort is still preserved

Reducing waste at TVPalm does not mean asking guests to accept discomfort. What is being pursued is a calmer, more grounded form of comfort: safe water always available, spaces that feel clean without a heavy chemical smell, and a property whose daily operations tread more lightly on the landscape.

Rather than removing convenience, this approach redefines it. Comfort is no longer tied to excess or disposability, but to reliability, simplicity, and a sense of ease that feels natural rather than imposed. Cleanliness comes without harshness, resources are provided without waste, and the overall experience remains smooth and considered.

In this way, sustainability becomes something quietly supportive rather than restrictive. Guests are not required to adjust or compromise; instead, they move through an environment where thoughtful systems are already in place allowing comfort and responsibility to exist side by side in a way that feels both effortless and intentional.

What this means for guests

Guests notice the difference without needing a technical explanation. They feel it in the refilled water, the smaller number of disposable items, the cleaner natural atmosphere of the rooms, and the sense that their stay is supported by systems designed to waste less.

The experience is understood intuitively rather than explained. It appears in quiet, repeated moments the ease of accessing drinking water without plastic, the absence of unnecessary packaging, the subtle freshness of spaces maintained without harsh chemicals. These details do not call attention to themselves, yet together they shape a distinct impression.

What emerges is a form of awareness that does not interrupt the stay, but gently informs it. Guests move through the space with a growing sense that everything has been considered, that comfort has been maintained without excess, and that the environment around them is being cared for with intention.

Our long-term commitment

TVPalm does not pretend to have solved the problem of waste completely. What matters is continuing to reduce what can be reduced, replace what can be replaced, and keep building an operational rhythm that remains lighter, more circular, and more honest.

This position reflects a long-term mindset rather than a finished outcome. Progress is measured not by perfection, but by consistency by the willingness to keep refining systems, testing alternatives, and improving what already exists. Each adjustment, however small, contributes to a broader direction that values responsibility over appearance.

In this way, sustainability is treated as an ongoing practice. It evolves with time, shaped by daily operations and grounded in real constraints, rather than presented as a fixed or complete solution. What remains constant is the intention: to move steadily toward a way of operating that reduces impact, respects the land, and stays transparent about both its efforts and its limitations.
