Motorbike Recommendations by Road Segment

Ha Giang Easy Rider tours are guided motorbike trips where you sit behind an experienced local driver. These tours cover the famous Ha Giang mountain loop in northern Vietnam. Popular itineraries last 3 to 5 days and pass through major highlights like Ma Pi Leng Pass, Dong Van, and Quan Ba.

What is a Ha Giang Easy Rider Tour?

A Ha Giang Easy Rider tour is a guided motorcycle road trip where you ride as a passenger on the back of a motorbike operated by a professional local driver-guide. This arrangement allows you to focus entirely on the dramatic scenery of the Dong Van Karst Plateau while your driver handles the steep mountain passes, navigation, and vehicle maintenance.

Booking Policies, Insurance & Payment Terms

We maintain clear, transparent booking conditions to protect our guests and support our local community partners.

  • Included Accident Cover: Every TVPalm tour package includes basic PVI Inbound Insurance. This serves as a baseline medical safety net.
  • Mandatory Personal Insurance: Guests must carry personal travel insurance that explicitly covers riding as a passenger on a motorcycle up to 150cc in Vietnam. You must submit proof of cover at least 14 days before your tour departure.
  • 30% Deposit Policy: A non-refundable 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking. This deposit secures your local Dao homestay beds and pays local guides.
  • Recommended Payment Methods: We accept Wise, Revolut, PayPal, and domestic bank transfers. We recommend Wise or Revolut to avoid high currency conversion fees.
  • Child Safety Policy: For safety reasons, children under 12 years old cannot ride as pillion passengers on motorbikes. Families with children must book our private car or 4×4 Jeep tour options.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the luggage limit for an Easy Rider tour?

You can carry a daypack weighing up to 5kg on the back of the motorcycle. Your driver will secure your daypack inside a waterproof cover behind your seat. Your main luggage (large suitcases or backpacks) will remain in our secure storage room at TVPalm Ecolodge for free.

Can two passengers share one Easy Rider guide and motorcycle?

No. For safety reasons, we strictly enforce a one-passenger-per-motorcycle rule. Carrying two passengers on steep mountain passes makes the bike unstable and increases braking distances. Each traveler must have their own dedicated Easy Rider.

What happens if it rains heavily during our tour?

Our safety team monitors mountain weather conditions in real-time. In case of heavy rain or landslide risks, we adjust our departure times or re-route the convoy through lower passes. If conditions become unsafe, we transfer passengers to a support car or 4×4 jeep at no extra cost.
